Spicy Grilled Cheese

Spicy Grilled Cheese

One of the easiest and most satisfying sandwiches out there! We like to toast some extra cheese on the outside to give the sandwich an even more satisfying crunch and flavor. Also instead of using butter or olive oil, we skim the top of the Boon Sauce jar and use the spicy Boon oil to help fry up the cheese in the pan for added flavor!

Recipe:

2 slices sourdough bread
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese or any other sharp cheese that melts well
2 large basil leaves
1 tablespoon boon sauce oil
1 tablespoon boon sauce
fresh cracked black pepper to taste

-Heat a non-stick pan on low heat and add a half tablespoon of boon oil.

-Add 1/4 cup of cheese in the shape of the bread.

-Place 1 slice of bread on top of the cheese and start building your sandwich from there.

-Add 1 cup of cheese on to the bread and then tear the basil leaves and place them on top of the cheese.

-Drizzle some Boon Sauce on top of everything and then cover it with the second slice of bread.

-Make sure to keep and eye on the bottom toast and adjust the heat accordingly in order to prevent burns.

-Once the cheese is fully melted and crisp on the bread use a spatula to remove the sandwich and rest on a rack.

-Add the rest of the Boon Oil to the pan and then the rest of the cheese.

-Flip the sandwich over and place the side that has no cheese crust down on top of the melting cheese in the pan.

-Keep toasting on low heat till the cheese is crispy and the middle of the sandwich is fully melted.

-Slice in half and enjoy!
